About me

Hi, I'm Sergio Robledo.

I was born in 1985 in Segovia. Since I can remember I love horses, being very small, at the age of 5, my first experience did not turn out to be a situation that predicted this love for them, because I ended up on the ground. However, life has crossed me with them, especially during my time in the Basque Country, in 2012, where I learned other ways of relating to them, not necessarily riding, but also, there are other ways of riding that are more respectful of them, without a bite, how we now defend, without methods of punishment.


For many years I found it impossible to take care of horses, my university studies and then work, always in cities, was not conducive to taking care of horses according to my values, so combining my passion with my training became a dream.


Living in the wild, giving the horses the most similar conditions to what their wild life would be like, improving their well-being, is the goal but it was not viable in a city, where they were locked up in stables and did not have large meadows.

Being animals of prey, their way of surviving is to escape, they have highly developed stimuli, in hearing, sight, smell, touch, and are very sensitive, the stress and anguish that they live in the stables, is not what they wanted.


Life brought me back to the land where I was born, the dog that I had been caring for for several years got sick, I returned to be able to take care of her with the support of my family, then, that is when by "causality" I started volunteering at a horse riding school in Segovia for a project with people with mental illness, I suddenly saw that viable relationship between my profession and my passion.


From there the creation of the SEDDE Association was born, and not only that, it was the beginning of the decision that the time had come to start building my life purpose.


The creation of the association, getting our own horses, learning from them, helping others, above all, facilitating or financing access to these activities for the most vulnerable groups and those with disabilities and/or functional diversity, became a dream come true. reality, and also, with my dog, Chula, recovered, she lived three more years after her recovery.


The whole path has not been exempt from difficulties, many of them my own, until through the horses, the sessions with horses that I did in myself and the training in this area, the day to day with them, made me tear down those limiting beliefs that prevented me from starting, with persistence, we started, despite not having everything in our favor. Today, we can say that we are fulfilling our objectives, I can say that I am fulfilling my purpose, although I still have many goals to achieve and dreams to fulfill.


Our first horse was the result of another "chance", looking for how to learn, how to start practicing, all the books on ethology that I had read, I came across a horse that I went to visit and that was in very bad physical condition, and therefore, mental. I couldn't look the other way and on April 1, 2017, he came home with us.


I have carried out, and carry on, a process of constant growth, personal, formative and professional, both socially and with the horses. Learning with Lucero, a horse that put hands with a pelham, straight and with devein, iron of the most damaging, to ride it with a stable halter, to go from distrusting all men to letting themselves be caressed and seeking contact. Their change and transformation, their physical and mental health, are the result of learning and the practice of trying to do better every day.


We also work to integrate that we are all one, and raise awareness about respect for living beings, nature and horses, especially the latter, because they provide us with scientifically proven benefits.


We have created an innovative method that we have called Pedagogy of Being, where through the context and the horses, already therapeutic, we carry out an accompaniment to help others to detect their purpose, to improve the quality of life based on their heart, to achieve their goals and resolve their conflicts. We do not intend to replace any treatment or medication, but to provide a complement that helps people connect with themselves through horses.


The Pedagogy of Being is a methodology within emotional management and personal growth. It contributes to promoting well-being by connecting body, mind and emotions through horses, they make us aware of our unconscious, and we help to detect limiting beliefs, integrating different scientific, philosophical and humanistic disciplines.


Through experience, with healthy, free and coherent horses, we will detect our limitations, we will work on the change of perception, after understanding the origin of emotional experiences and conflicts.


We accompany you in the emotional management of the experience and in the process of self-awareness of the internal resources that emerge during the session.


The result is the perception of the responsibility of being able to direct our life, therefore, we can decide to feel empowered. coherent, with inner peace and motivation to act.

My Curriculum Vitae

Formation:

    Degree in Pedagogy from the University of Salamanca, specifically, the last year at the University of Oviedo (Seneca Scholarship). 2010.Social Education from the University of Salamanca. 2005-2008.

My work experience exceeds 10 years worked, mainly I have worked in Centers for Minors (protection and reform) with children, adolescents and their families. I have also carried out the work of Family Educator for the Provincial Council of Segovia, until the beginning of 2023.

International Cooperator through Cordes in El Salvador. With the Solidarity Youth program of Castilla y León. With functions to empower the people of the Communities, women and youth, with a focus on human rights, gender equality, sexuality, entrepreneurship and food security. Year 2017.

I have worked with ATE with people with functional diversity in the Early Childhood and Primary School and I have also carried out: Educational Workshops in School Centers in the province of Segovia, on Living in Health. EMADE, SL. Educational campaign of 2016, from February to April. Total 87 workshops.

Since July 2016 I have been at the Juan Pablo II Protection Center and New Home, belonging to the Provincial Council of Segovia, and developing at the same time, the SEDDE Association.

 

Since 2021 I have worked at the San Gil de Cuellar school as an Educational Technical Assistant for people with functional diversity.

In these years I have carried out interventions and/or individualized and group sessions with children, adolescents and families.

Own workshops and in collaboration with other professionals in our facilities, and sessions for individuals.

 

I have also experienced coaching sessions with horses, both individually and in groups.
